YOU CAME LIKE AUTUMN is a quick emotional read or I can say it’s a short story of 10 chapters by Purba Chakraborty

We all experience four different seasons- spring, summer, autumn, and winter and these seasons are based on the various stages that we experience every passing year.

Sometimes heartbreaks takes place and life seems to be too difficult to walk or live without that one beloved person with whom we were so attached. We can never predict the expiry date of our relationships because life is unpredictable. we can never predict whether a goodbye is temporary or permanent.  No matter what might happen, love and hope is the only factor for which our heart beats.

The story revolves around Nivedita and Samar.

Samar belongs to a liberated background while Nivedita is opposite to Samar.

Both after being separated, met each other in their 60s in an old age home.

The title of the book - YOU CAME LIKE AUTUMN, is itself explaining that the story is based on the person who separated from each other, no matter what the reason may be, but they met each other again like a season returns.

The question arises here is that whether the returned season will have a good impact on persons life or not.

Samar came like autumn in Nivedita’s life.

Same question arises on the return of Nivedita and Samar in each other’s life.

Will they be able to track on their love life, whether the love, emotional attachment/connection they shared with each other still exist? Whether Samar will be able to take away all the withered, painful memories? Will the space for beautiful, new memories be sprouted in Samar and Nivedita’s life?

Do they still have feelings for each other? Will they get all the unanswered questions? If they will get to know all the real reasons behind their separation/misunderstandings, will they unite again? Will they think of the norms and conventions of society to get united again?

Yet the story was a short to read but it was beautifully framed by the author.

The love between them is beautifully portrayed by the author.

The language and setting of the story are straightforward.

The title and cover perfectly matches.

I must suggest you to give it a read to this short, beautiful and heart felt story to get all those above questions.
