RICH LITERARY VERSES
Being an avid reader, I recently came across with a unique and enticing book called “Mythological Monologues” , written by Purba Chakraborty who is the author of 3 more books – 1- Walking in the Streets of Love and Destiny (2012), 2- The Hidden Letters (2014), 3- Canvas of a Mind (2017) She is an English Literature educator, content developer, and blogger too. Mythological Monologues is a collection of 26 dramatic monologues of epic characters from Ramayana and Mahabharata. The poetess Purba chakraborty has done a brilliant job to run an errand and in visualising monologues out of the mouth of characters like Ahalya, Janki, Urmila, Kunti, Karna, Eklavya, and others while presenting it in the form of a number of poems. The poetess has divided the chapters of this book into 2 halves. The one is- 1- When the characters from the Mahabharata speaks, and the other is 2- When the character from the Ramayana speaks.
